Since the last time we were on a dedicated server (at ev1servers) our server was hacked and we lost a lot of data, I'm not taking any chances this time. I have re-hired the person who restored our backup after the devastating crash a while ago and he is going to secure our server, install mmCache for me (I'm not all that skilled with linux) and tweak everything to make sure our forums run as well as they possibly can (of course, tweaking will be done once we go live as there is no test audience to go by yet for tweaks). He's going to uninstall the crap on the server we don't need and make sure we have everything we do - firewall, mmCache, and anything else necessary to run our boards. Peace of mind is priceless - luckily the price was low for this peace of mind ;) So...with mmCache installed and the server ready to receive our boards (I will need to install the software), hopefully the timeline will speed up a little (though I still have no set open date yet).

Thanks for all of your work. Servers can be such a headache, or so I've heard from your posts and also from my bf that does computer stuff for a living. We really appreciate all of your work.

As much as I hate to admit it, there is life without SD-1.net. If I'm honest, I've needed a break from the board, because while I'm addicted to spoilers, I hate knowing too much, because it ruins the show for me. Just trying to look on the bright side, and try to find the good in this......but I do miss the people.

I've been reading the updates ever since SD-1.net went down and I just need to say thank you for working on the boards! Most sites just sort of... disappear, but I know that I don't have to worry about SD-1.net disappearing. Thank you!

Blake - I know I have said it a few times already but thanks for all of your work and effort. This does have an up side. It shows freeloaders like me all of the work and maintenance that goes into this site. I am looking forward to the boards getting up so that I can chat again but also so that I can sign up as a subscriber!!

Ooooooooooooooooooooooh... this delay is killing me. i have no idea of how a server and all this stuff works. all i can do is switch my computer on and off and to me it´s like a miracel how i can post on somethig like sd-1.
thank you for your afford and i hope there are no more difficulties - for your own time sake and for our sake to have this wonderful board online again.
and to whoever hacked into sd-1....well i better don´t verbalise what i´m thinking of those people - well, truth is i'm stucked in my limited ability of the english language here, so "das war echt ne scheiß aktion von euch! werdet endlich erwachsen"
