The server was just ordered, and within 5 minutes of me placing the order, I got a call to confirm the order. Sounded very nice, and, best of all, there's actually people working there (not quite sure about Invision)...
But the server should be set up tomorrow afternoon he said and then I have to make some customizations to speed up the server (Turck's mmCache, SQL tweaks, etc.) and then I need to install Invision Power Board. After the board is installed, I can upload the database and then import it on the new server and we should be good to go. I'm really looking forward to getting everything up and running again. Hopefully I can get it done by the weekend, but it probably will be completed over the weekend.

Wow. MMCache looks pretty damn sweet. It's always been either out of my hands or I've just used Zend by default. It's no contest, now. Yet again, open source whoops ass. =]

Hi Blake. I dont understand any of the technical jargon you use (am learning though!) but just like the rest, just wanted to let you know how very much we appreciate what you're doing. I've been on "withdrawal" since SD-1 went off the air and have tried other Boards but none of them are as meaty, comprehensive and insightful as SD-1. Thank you SO SO MUCH!! [clap clap clap bow bow]
