Looks like we're back. Server probably just hit a snag and rebooted itself. Not sure why or what caused it and I'll try and look at the error logs tonight, but we're back online with over 700 people still online.

Well, I'm not quite sure why SD-1 just went down right now. The load was low, there were no warnings, but it just decided to die on me it seems. I'm going to contact support to see what might have happened. Stay tuned.

I doubt anyone's really watching this site, but SD-1.net is currently down because we are backing up the database and working to fix the user profile problems. The backup is actually done (only took 33 minutes to download exactly 2.50 gigs). We are just waiting now on a very complex query to the database as we work to fix the problem where user profiles would take upwards of 2 minutes to show up. They should be instantaneous after this update - it just takes a while to alter the tables to fix the problem. Since SD-1.net is still up, stay tuned to that site for updates. When it opens, all should be working again.
